Agent pleads with David Sullivan to sign his Man United client for West Ham – Hammers News – West Ham United FC

Hammers News can exclusively reveal that a top agent is pleading with David Sullivan to sign his £50m Man United client for West Ham.

West Ham are looking to sign another five players in the summer transfer window and could be set to do some business with Manchester United.

The Hammers and Red Devils finished just one place apart in last season’s Premier League table.

New Man United co-owners INEOS appear to be backing Erik ten Hag with a number of signings to get the Old Trafford side competing for the top spots again.

West Ham are also in the midst of a major overhaul for Julen Lopetegui with three players in the door at the London Stadium thus far.

Manchester United have just signed alleged West Ham target Jonathan Zirkzee to bolster their forward line.

The club told Hammers News last week that signing a striker is currently West Ham’s top priority.

Hammers still interested in Man United duo

But Hammers technical director Tim Steidten is also looking to add a versatile full-back and central midfielder as part of the Lopetegui overhaul.

That has seen Manchester United duo Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Scott McTominay heavily linked once more.

West Ham are being linked with other players in those positions too.

Ten Hag and INEOS – like most clubs – are keen to raise funds to help satisfy strict PSR rules.

So offloading players for decent fees is vitally important to clubs this summer.

That explains why we are seeing so many deals being done between Premier League clubs in the window so far.

Agent pleading with Sullivan to sign his Man United client

Back in May it was reported that Wan-Bissaka had said his goodbyes at Manchester United ahead of a move this summer.

Not only was Wan-Bissaka wanted by new head coach Lopetegui when he was at Wolves, but a man who has the ear of West Ham’s majority owner is heavily involved too.

Extra credibility is given to the claims about a Hammers move for Wan-Bissaka – the right-back Man United signed for £50m from Palace – by virtue of the fact he is a client of Will Salthouse’s Unique Sports Group agency.

Agent Salthouse is known to be a close friend of the sons of West Ham chief Sullivan.

Salthouse is said to have been influential in Lopetegui’s appointment as David Moyes’ replacement in east London.

West Ham are also keen to sign players who tick the Premier League’s homegrown status box this summer.

Now Hammers News can exclusively reveal that Salthouse is pleading with Sullivan to sign Wan-Bissaka instead of Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters.

‘Trying to get the deal done’

A top Hammers News source close to the potential deal claims Salthouse is ‘desperate’ to see Wan-Bissaka at the London Stadium.

“Will Salthouse is desperate to get Sullivan to take Wan-Bissaka,” the source told Hammers News.

“I understand Salthouse is trying to get the deal done and there is definite interest from West Ham.

“A problem is wages as Wan-Bissaka would need to take a pay cut.”

It comes as Caught Offside claims Wan-Bissaka has made it clear he wants to join West Ham over other clubs vying for his signature such as Galatasaray.

The bumper £18m sale of Flynn Downes to Southampton will bolster West Ham’s transfer kitty.

The Hammers revealed that ‘will help a bit’ with regards bringing in a striker and full-back.

Now it remains to be seen whether Salthouse can get a deal done between West Ham and Manchester United for his client Wan-Bissaka.

If not then the Hammers will press on with a deal for Walker-Peters instead.
