Juventus’ interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi could reportedly open the door for Jadon Sancho to return to Germany.

It had seemed a clear-cut case that Sancho would be leaving Manchester United this summer after his falling out with Erik ten Hag last season.

The English winger had been linked to a move to Juventus and the Italian club were said to be interested in a loan deal or perhaps a swap with Federico Chiesa.

Nonetheless, the rather surprising news broke a few days ago that Sancho had been welcomed back into United’s first team training and Ten Hag has commented on how the two have “drawn a line” under the situation.

Nonetheless, this does not mean that a transfer for the Englishman is completely off the table as the Red Devils will probably still listen to strong offers from other clubs, as Dortmund and Juve still harbour an interest in the player.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport have reported that Sancho may be drifting towards a move back to the Bundesliga instead of Serie A due to Juventus’ interest in a current Dortmund attacker, Adeyemi.

Borussia “values” the winger at around €40 million and despite not wanting to let him go, “they are aware that Juventus could have an irresistible charm for a young footballer attracted by the possibility of competing at a higher (including economic) level.”

Moreover, there is already said to be a broad agreement on his potential wages should he make the move.

This is relevant for the Red Devils as Juventus pivoting away from Sancho could lead him back to Dortmund.

What’s more, Juve’s interest in Adeyemi could provide the cash for the Bundesliga side to trigger a move for the 24 year old United attacker.

The Italian paper adds to this by explaining that “Sancho’s return to Germany would facilitate the departure of Adeyemi, Motta’s favourite, towards Turin.”

It remains unclear what United intend to do with Sancho and how much of a role he will play in the club’s pre-season preparations. There is no doubt that should he stay, he would provide valuable depth and talent on the wings.

The other side of the argument is despite his unquestionable potential, he is still an inconsistent player and should United be able to secure a permanent move for him at a sizeable fee, the economic rewards could substantially help United’s transfer budget for the remainder of the window.
