Saudi’s New Murabba Stadium will be ready for the 2034 FIFA World Cup – Fact magazine

The sports facility will be located in downtown Riyadh. The new Saudi Arabia’s development scene is constantly evolving, with new hotels and entertainment venues popping up left, right, and centre. And now, the latest jewel in its crown is the New Murabba Stadium in Riyadh.

Backed by the New Murabba Development Company, this stadium is set to be the star of the New Murabba project. Inspired by the overlapping planes and planar texture of the native Acacia tree, the design reflects the typical Saudi mountains, blending traditional and modern aesthetics in downtown Riyadh.

The New Murabba Stadium will also feature cutting-edge sporting technology, promising an immersive and personalised fan experience. But its practicality extends beyond sports, offering space for community events such as gaming competitions, exhibitions and much more.

With New Murabba Stadium’s completion scheduled by the end of 2032, the venue is poised to become a symbol of Riyadh’s transformation, attracting tourists, as well as solidifying Saudi Arabia’s position as a leader in sports and entertainment. Plus, it aligns perfectly with the FIFA World Cup, which Saudi Arabia will host in 2034.

Part of the grand $800 billion New Murabba project, the stadium is just one piece of the puzzle. The project aims to double the size and population of the capital, turning downtown Riyadh into a cultural hotspot. Alongside the stadium, the project will include a museum, a technology and design university, a multi-purpose immersive theatre, and over 80 cultural and entertainment venues.

All these developments align with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to diversify the economy. With a completion deadline of 2030, the New Murabba project is set to make Riyadh a bustling cultural and entertainment hub, and the New Murabba Stadium — completing in 2032 — is at its heart.
