She is also the third former Portland Thorns player to play for Milan, after Verónica Boquete and Celeste Boureille.
The 36-year-old also has experience playing against AC Milan players, both during friendly tournaments hosted by Racing Louisville and during qualification for the 2022 Women’s Euros, where Denmark played against Italy.
She is also the daughter of a former Afghan general, Rabani Khan, who was killed while battling the Taliban. After his death, her mother was forced to sell everything and flee the country as they feared for their lives. They eventually made their way to Pakistan, before being accepted into a refugee camp in Denmark.
It was during those heady days in the camps where she developed a love of football while playing with the other children there. Nadim was eventually granted Danish citizenship and has gone on to represent her country at the senior level, as she made a total of 68 appearances for De rød-hvide.
And if that weren’t enough, Nadim is also a licensed medical doctor, who specializes in the field of reconstructive surgery.
The high-profile player has been profiled by the likes of CNN, the L.A. Times, and the official Olympics website.
Nadim will no doubt elevate the Rossonere’s status by playing for the team and will hopefully help turn the season around for them as well.
The forward has scored a total of 63 goals and registered a total of 24 assists during her club career. The AC Milan Women will also be in action against Pomigliano tomorrow. Kickoff time will be at 12:30 PM CET.
