Bayern Munich want to sign both Désiré Doué and Xavi Simons – Bavarian Football Works

It’s no secret that Bayern Munich want Stade Rennais talent Désiré Doué badly to replace the club’s current roster of wingers. In fact, the club wants him so bad that their coach Vincent Kompany spoke to the former to affirm his admiration:

Vincent Kompany had a phone call with Désiré Doué in recent days. Bayern are still pushing to sign the Frenchman and are preparing a second bid to Rennes. Talks are advanced between Bayern and Doué and between clubs. PSG are still there. Rennes want €60m plus add-ons.

Kompany told Doué he really wants him to join Bayern. The Frenchman is mainly planned on the wing, but also as #10 and #8. He’s expected to be Kingsley Coman’s replacement. The Doué ‘poker’ is not expected to last for weeks. The goal is for a decision to be made next week

Despite the gap in valuation, Bayern is also looking to sign Xavi Simons, who hasn’t committed to a future with either Paris Saint-Germain (his parent club) or RB Leipzig (where he spent the last season on loan). Coincidentally, PSG are also looking at signing Doué or Kingsley Coman from Bayern. This three-way transfer saga is heating up.
