2. Lucas Hernndez (80m)
In 2019, Bayern Munich made a hefty investment to sign Lucas Hernndez from his boyhood club Atletico Madrid. Bayern Munich paid 80m to sign the defender, who was considered at the time to be one of the best in his position in the world, yet still having the whole world ahead of him.
To label Lucas Hernndez as a waste of money would be unjust. However, he would have hoped for more out of his four year Bayern Munich tenure. Unfortunately, though, his time in the Bundesliga was plagued with injury concerns. Still, he can have no complaints about winning the Bundesliga four times and the Champions League once during his time with Bayern Munich.
Eventually in 2023, Lucas Hernndez was sold to Paris Saint-Germain. Having won everything there is to win at club level with Bayern Munich, he can go down as a successful transfer, despite the club losing money on him when they came to sell him. When he was in and around the starting lineup, he produced some stellar form in Bayern Munich red.
